Silly calendar tricks

It boggles my mind that I just got booked to teach at an event taking place next July. I mean, we just finished off the summer this year, and I'm already booking next summer.

Wild.

Actually it is 30 miles north of Albany.

BTW this is not the only July event I have booked. Also am booked for an event in September...

That's a ~very~ friendly event. Really nice folks. Beautiful, stunning venue. I helped out in the kitchen there because I am a friend of the men's community which inhabits that center. They wanted some, uh, culturally competent kitchen help, and there was no way I could afford it.

If I'm free, absolutely. It was mostly a BYOB event (bring your own bottom), but the resident staff tends to be rathe...adventurous...and good looking (all that healthy food and yoga).
:)

Plug for them: For a medium sized event where the attendees can pay $175+ for the weekend (I think that is about the break even point, last I heard), they are worth talking to for rental.

What is the result -- feeling overbooked, or feeling like you have things to look forward to?

The second. With a little bit of amazement of how many events there are these days, and the somewhat competitive nature that is forming to stay successful.

Uh...you may be hearing from me about something else next year...but I'll wait until after BR is over and I can breathe.

*laughing* Boy, you're just constantly getting roped in to this organizing thing, huh?

Wait...there's rope involved? How come I didn't get any? :(

Yeah. Kinda enjoying it, in some sick, perverted way. Scary stuff, that.

lol - as someone who finds himself randomly assigned to programming, I have to say, the further in advance you're booked, the better for you! It means that the organizers have time to schedule things like chairs, microphones, PR, actual audience outreach... MUCH better than being called two days before the event... (I haven't ended up doing that yet... *knocking wood* Here's hoping I don't have to all year long...)

Funny
I made an appt with a taxpayer for July today and I too was boogled. I hate making plans that far in advance.
