Woo!

What a weekend. Full of excitement and adventure!

Friday - Went to go see a movie with lolitasir. We saw Wallace and Gromit. Cute movie, great claymation. Fun! We went to eat afterwards at our favorite Times Square haunt, Ollie's. We were brave and tried their little juicy buns. I loved how they squirted in my mouth. ;-)

Saturday - First, errand-ville. lolitasir and I retrieved stuff from the LPN storage locker, and then went to my own storage room so I can finally have jackets to wear. Grabbed a box of DVDs to watch at home, and then realized I packed two boxes - one with movies, and one with porn. I grabbed the porn box. Oops.

We picked up eisa from the bus terminal, and went to go eat at the Popover Cafe. Yum yum yum yum yum.

Sunday - eisa and I went to help rogueboi and dragbear  move. We got to be the first people to see their wonderful new apartment. Beautiful and spacious. On the drive to the new place, we were serenaded by their two cats who were crying in perfect harmony.

Then, eisa and I drove to the Upper West Side to pick up lolitasir, jd_trouble and redhead_sue to go apple picking! I was excited to be wearing my motorcyle jacket for the first time, and it was perfect weather for it. We got a shitload of apples, and apple cider, and apple cider donuts, and different flavored breads, and pumpkin butter, and clam chowder, and pumpkin coffee. Whew!

I also helped my princess sister pick out a pumpkin. I loved that. She then helped me pick a pumpkin for my parents. Every year they say they will do something with the pumpkin - pumpkin pie, seeds, blah blah blah. I just know that in January I will be throwing it out untouched. Like every year.

Going to the farm, we drove through beautiful NY countryside - I by accident drove to the end of the Palisades, and wound up turning around and heading to Warwick NY via Bear Mountain and a beautiful, winding 2 lane road that crossed through gigantic ponds and gorgeous scenery. I really loved the drive, even though it was totally out of our way.

Oh - I also discovered why gay men love Crisco so much. *evil grin*

It was a fabulous weekend.

We went to Penning's Orchard - http://www.penningsorchard.com/

We filled our bags to the brim. We found we had to walk deeper into the orchards to find bountiful trees - the stuff immediately nearby had already been picked through.

I have no way of comparing how this year is better or worse than any other, but we're happy! :-)

As for the pumpkin, bring it to me before it goes bad, and i'll make you some pumpkin treats.

You mean you baked your own pie crust for an apple pie? After all, crisco makes for really flaky pie crust.

Thank you both for all your help! The kitty harmony just wouldn't have been bearable without the quality moral (and literal) support y'all provided. *big bear hug*
