September

Greetings, September. I watch the passing of Summer, and prepare myself for the pleasures of the Fall.

I always get excited over the autumn months. I can't imagine enjoying the Fall anywhere other than New York.

I look forward to apple and pumpkin picking. Walks in the city admist the breeze while being able to comfortably wear my leather motorcycle jacket again. Going to the party or the bar in my leathers. Frolicking with friends, getting cup of hot chocolate or chai just to be indulgent.

And come the end of the month, a major passing of age. At the end of September, I will leave my roaring 20's behind. For good or for bad, I will enter my next phase. It fills me with excitment and dread all at the same time.

Every year during September, my mind floats to where I have been, what have I done, what have I accomplished, what do I want. Where I am going.
Greetings September. I missed you. Good to see you again.

I find I get a little more reminiscent with autumn closing in as well. Maybe because of everything that's happened in the Autumns of my life, maybe just because the focus of life goes from being outside to being more internal.. I don't know. But September definately makes me think.

And as a random side- where is a good place to get a motorcycle jacket? I'm kinda in the market for one.

Down by you? Not knowing DC all that well, I'd try the Leather Rack. Or, wait until Mid-Atlantic Leather and go to the vendor mart.

I'm sure Black Rose will have some decent stuff as well.

Wow.
30 years old.
That means I only have 2 more years to be a hot young twentysomething.
Kind've scary...
And thank-you for the beautiful picture of fall in New York. It will be nice to daydream about on top of the racks later - I can actually smell your leather jacket and taste the chai and feel the crispness of the air... I do wonder, however, where one would go about picking apples and pumpkins in the large urban metropolis you call home...Do they have community gardens with pumpkin vines and apple trees in Central Park? What a bizarre image. Pumpkin vines take up a lot of space. I can imagine them snaking through the park, tripping up scores of pissed off joggers. Gives a new meaning to the word "fall"...

Anyway, enjoy your 30s :)

Ah apple picking!!! Lil Miss L wants to go again. Last year we missed going because of this little thing called a wedding.

Can not wait to make apple pies and put apples into everything I cook!!!
