Games for a Monday morning...

It's Monday. I'm at work. I don't want to be at work though. I want to be at home playing Morrowind on my computer. But, I can't. 'Cause I'm at work.

So, let's make this Monday a little more interesting. This is a little game that has been slowly fluttering around my friends list, and it looks like fun. Many of you who know me closely will know that my memory can be funny... I can remember some of the most minute, pointless details or snippets of conversation, but when someone becomes integrated into my life, I forget my actual meeting of them. Sometimes. Like, for example, I actually have no recollection whatsoever of me meeting Lolita. It is as if she was always in my life. Which is as it should be anyway.

Alright, enough rambling.

[Stolen from others]
Let's play a game. The how'd we meet game. Here are the rules. In the comments section, answer two questions. First - when did you first become aware of my existence? Second - when did we actually meet? Once you have answered, I'll reply to your comment and we will see if we share the same memory match.

I first became aware of your existance hearing Kelly talk about you. Hmmm, the first time I met you was at the Ramada in New Carrollton, but I do not remember what event it was. I think it was an LF&P though b/c I don't remember it being crowded enough to be a BR.

My lord... Kelly. There is a name you don't hear much anymore. I miss her.

I think that sounds right... I went to only one of the LF&Ps, with Lolita. But, yah, it's fuzzy.

I think one and the same, for me... three years ago October...15th? The date is pertinent enough for me that I remember it, though not because of meeting you *smooch*. At a kinky party thrown by my now-partner (hence the pertinence of memory) at R&A's. You flirted at me very lightly... I blushed and generally wanted to dissapear, as is my wont when cute people flirt at me. I liked you lots, based on a very limited observation of your behavior and interactions with other people.

After that, we just ran into each other at random events enough to want to see you at the next random event. Until I fortuitously left some clothing behind... :o)

See, this is one of the reasons why I typed the above. I so don't remember that party... but, I remember flirting with you. Strange.

Glad I did. *kiss*

I think it would have been BR '99. Maybe. Maybe '00.

I know that the first time we really talked though would have been in Boston, in... '01? So I'd say that would be when we *met*.

Hell, I don't remember.

Aha! Your story has changed, considering how you love to remind me that we met several times, and I kept forgetting. I was dubious.

I first heard of you from divalion, who of course said wonderful things about you. I met you at LR 2003, at least briefly. I doubt I made much of an impression, as I was very much in "ooh, bright shiny things!" mode... trying to take it all in.

I became aware of your existence the one time we actually met - you came to give a demonstration of toys at a meeting of WHAP, the NYU bdsm club. (I'm friends with the then-president of WHAP, who let me in even though I'm not an NYU student.) The club got in a bit of trouble over the knife you put to your friend's throat, but then that got sorted out, I believe. I was the short girl with the curly red hair who went all "ooooh!" over the delightful variety of toys you had laid out.

ROFL - yeah, that meeting got me in a wee bit of trouble. A few people slapped me upside the head for that one.

So, are you a local NY'er? Why haven't we seen you since?

As I Have said in the past it is all Susie Q's fault.

I was interested in starting a TNG and she told me that she would let you know and that you would email me. I got impatient (surprise surprise) and emailed you first.

We actually met at the Boston Fetish Flea. The summer one.
You called out my name and there you were vest, boots, jeans, t-shirt and I knew that it must me you. You told me your name and I gave you a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek. You were a little thrown off by that response. I also got you to give me money toward my corset that day. :)

We first "met" online, I think possibly through Zane or Sarah, I was in Boston at the time. We actually met, I think, at LPN 2k I think. I'm not sure if we were introduced through Zane, Sarah or Heather (impgrrl), who is a very good friend of mine.

We more formally met later, and started talking a bit more a few months before Second Coming.... the rest is history.

I still cannot remember our formal meeting. I remember us spending time together at Second Coming. But, before that is blurry.

I was at "one of those" parties. I was learning to flog. A cute guy came over and gave me some pointers. I learned later your name and then was introduced again to you, I believe, at a later flea.

Exsistance and reality
I remember hearing about you from Lani and Jeremy, soon after I was with them. I was hoping to meet you at BR that year, but unfortunately you had a lot of misfortune that year, and were unable to make it. I didn't get to meet you until you were at Leather Retreat the following Summer, and lit up my blue baloon! (I might have met you formally before that, but that was the best part)

I think I first became aware of your existence on some mailing list or another in 1999, back during the brief period I was actively involved in BR-T(first)NG. I do remember you and Lolita being at the party at R&A's that rdhdsnippet mentioned, but I think I already vaguely knew who you were at that point. So I suspect we first met some time before. Chickenstock, maybe?

I first met you at a TES meeting; I think it was my second. You were pulled from the audience to be one of several demo bottoms. Dov tied you up, and several other people at the meeting joked with you during the demo. Both of those made you seem easily approachable, so at the break I found you outside talking to Tower (who I'd never met before either) and asked you for a cigarette.

Twelfth Night. Was it '99 or '00? Either way, it was my first, and I was pretty green.

I was sitting on the couch in the lower living room (the one closest to the tree), absent-mindedly bouncing my shoe on my toe. Until you pointed out how much you liked it - then my mind wasn't so absent.

We flirted all that night.

That was also the night that you and another familiar wolf (though not one *named* Wolf) had lots of loud fun with another family member on the floor.

I love that party.

Dec. 1st, 2003 09:11 am (UTC)
Wow. I remember you being led into the living room, and everyone turned. The whole party atmosphere changed at that second. What was at first just mellow, say hi to friends... turned into all the wolves looking at the fresh new piece of meat that just walked in.

You were instantly marked prey at that second. You just didn't know that.

And I still have not lived that floor scene down.

It was our first TES meeting which turned out to be a TNG meeting - thankfully we were under 35. You and NyghtOwl did a presentation on caning. It was quite an evening and in fact you told us about TNG2 that day (which we attended). It was July 2002.

First: Morrowind is evil. Red loves that game.

As for meeting you....hmm. You are one of those people who floated out there on the periphery for a while for me because everyone knew you. And I would see you post on the TNG list, that kind of thing.

A few fleas ago, I noticed someone who was taking extreme pleasure in the pain he was delivering to his play partner at a post-flea party...she was literally trying to climb up a chain web and away from you. I think you made the connection for me in livejournal about who it was I had seen.

I think we had several other of those kinds of drifting-in--and-out-of-each-other's-sphere kind of moments. But of course, it was at LR when I first felt like I had the pleasure of getting to know a bit about who you are :)

You don't want my answer...but I'll give it to you anyway
I first became aware of your existance through your biological aunt. She showed me pictures of her nephew (as a VERY young child), about the same time that I met her brother, your father. This was sometime in the late 1980's or early 1990's.

I MET you in similar, family related surroundings. I don't remember much about it, but the next time I saw you, you had gotten a little older and a lot sexier.

Then, recently, I found out that we have far too much in common not to re-aquaint ourselves.

While it is a conversation best left for other mediums... I am a tad bit curious as to what kind of re-aquainting you have in mind. :-)

First - when did you first become aware of my existence?

Sometime in Fall of 2000, after Tessa met you.

Second - when did we actually meet?

I think I might have started reading your journal once in a while sometime late fall 2000. I met you in the flesh for the first time sometime that winter. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I believe it was January or later 2001. You were up for the weekend, visiting Demi, D and Tessa. I first met you when I met up with Demi in Harvard sq. to bring her the package. I saw you later on, that evening, at a party.

I met you at Second Coming; you came up to me and told me that I had very nice feet (I had taken off my shoes for whatever reason right before a Leadership thingy).

I can't recall if I had heard of you before that... likely I had heard you mentioned (you're FAAAAAYYYY-MOUS), unlikely it had actually meant anything to me.

*Okay...I'll play...
When was I first aware of your existance?

OLF V...you were eating breakfast at the end of the table...*wearing a certain hat...I do believe...

Now, the question remains...when were you first aware of me?

*answering that question...and your second question...*feet*...you saw my feet...and i could not say a word about it...*You tried to bargin with Deborah Addington for a moment with said toes...but I was unavailable....*

Then again a year later...*

Did you really need reminding?
