What a way to spend the holiday.

They say that the best made plans of mice and men often get fucked up.

By golly, they're right.

I was supposed to have spent today at Ikea, followed by a nice relaxing evening with my parents in Brooklyn.

I made it to Brooklyn. Unfortunately, it was spent at the New York Methodist Hospital with my parents at my grandmother's bedside.

You see, she had a stroke this morning.

I don't have words for how much I despise my uncle right now. I hated him before this round of hospitalization. However, today, it took all my willpower and self-control to not grab his face and smash it into the walls within the emergency room.

Case in point - the low-life slug piece of shit waste of human life repeadetly did not inform my parents and I about discussions with doctors, my grandmother's condition, or even a lot of the details that led to her hospitilization. If it wasn't for us asking him point blank questions, we would have never known.

When my grandfather died of a stroke this very year, it did an amazing thing. It brought my entire father's side of the family together. Unified us for the first time in lord knows how long.

Now that my grandmother is dying of a stroke, it is hammering the last nail in the coffin of relationships on my mother's side of the family.

I apologize for the length of this post... it is 2:30 AM, I got home from the hospital only a half hour ago, and I am fucking seething with grief and anger.

Happy Memorial Day everyone.
