iPod saves lives... film at 11

After leaving work last night way too late, I decided to make a concerted effort to make this morning's commute a positive one.

With a newly updated iPod, I smiled merrily and bounced my leg along to a brand spankin' new mix I just got in the mail from eisa. All good, all happy... even had pretty feet to look at across the car...

...til we get to Church Avenue. Train stops. Sits. Sits some more. Local Q train comes in across the platform. It sits. Sits some more. Air conditioning goes off and lights dim. Grrrreeeeaaaat.

Turns out there was a sudden power outage on the B/Q line. Got out, took a crowded bus across to McDonald Ave, grabbed the F, and rode the local to my stop. Argh.

Thank god, I was listening to robot porn... er... Dresden Dolls' Coin-Operated Boy on repeat. Saved many, many lives.

The B/Q was all messed up earlier yesterday too - they said it was by 7th avenue... I was at the kings hwy stop and had to take the Q out to Coney Island to catch the D. Messed up my whole afternoon since my cell phone also died even though it was fully charged and took me 90 minutes longer to get where i was going.

at least you had the iPod..

Alternate Lyrics to "I can even take him in the bath" sung by them is " I can eveen take him in the ass". From what I hear she will sing that at concerts.

The whole album is really amazing.

Actually, when done live it's always "I can even fuck him in the ass".

*grin* I love those guys live...

(I still can't beleive that "Hey, Amanda Palmer's got a band now" are big enough to be getting mentioned in Rolling Stone)

No iPod here, but I did get satellite radio, which makes ALL the difference when commuting on 95, so I know just what you mean...

I feel for ya...
Once got stuck on the DC Metro (orange or yellow subway, don't remember). It's underground, it's a billion degrees outside, and it's the 4th of July. Me and everyone else on the Mall trying to cram into overcrowded cars full of babys, coolers, strollers and sweaty, stinky, oh-so-sticky folk.

Then... just for fun... the train stops. In a tunnel. Underground. No A/C, crying kids, everyone standing nose to armpit for about 90 minutes.

Still, it was better than watching "THE SIMPLE LIFE".
