I'm leery about attending, because a few years ago I had the joy of having to listen to my mom discuss with a coworker the fact that they'd seen her ex-husband at the event ON THE LOCAL NEWS. I may be out to my mom about being bisexual and poly, but that is a conversation that I really just do not need to have. Especially knowing her feelings on it.

I guarantee that will not happen this time. When that happened at TES30, we had a director who chose to "fly under the radar" when it came to notifying the local police about what we were hosting. The end result was that we then discovered that the convention center had a liquor license, and we were busted for that.

The current management plays much differently. The local police has been notified months ago about what we are doing. The convention center has NO liquor license. We have a lawyer looking over everything, and Susan Wright as our community relations chair, who has dealt personally with the police to make sure everything is on board.

I would not be working on this event if I thought there was a chance of what occurred at TES30 ever happening again.

Please don't let this hold you back. I assure you, it will not happen.

should be a great event and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Jun. 12th, 2006 08:57 pm (UTC)
I may or may not be coming (I don't tend to do that in public), but I will be going. :)

TES30 was my first big leather event, by the way, and the events of that weekend did not stop me from coming back.

Your schedule is amazing.

It pains me to no end that I won't be able to come this year. I've stopped reviewing the incredible bondage schedule, because it is just too depressing that I can't make it.

If there was anyway I could swing it, I'd be there.

Hey, how about doing the same thing next year!!!!!! I can come then (:
Jun. 12th, 2006 11:12 pm (UTC)
Next year, love. Just not up to leaving the bean for that long yet, and juggling the childcare ends up leaving neither of us getting enough time for anything. However, come next year I have a couple potentials for trustworthy childcare in the area.

Hmmmm it is really tempting. I apparently know a few folks who are vending. I've never done anything scene related in NY, so it is pretty intimidating.

Also - just FYI - there is a typo in the TES icon. It says 'then' where it should use 'than'.

Grammar slut, sorry!

You should come. This event shall rock.

*gets all despondant*
Too much is happening. It's Clay's birthday weekend, but later that month I will be gone two weeks. He is out of town this week and will be gone again for a week before the month is over. He also has more classes for work coming up this summer. There is going to be tons of traveling, but unfortunately not for "The FUN." This summer is already pushing the "too much parental absense for kidlet's health and happiness."

Have fun for me all the rest of you.

Feel bad we can't make it. I'm sorry.

On that weekend I shall have fantasies that I am not actually in Georgia, but that I have gone renegade, headed north, absconded fairyprincess directly from her job and headed north in a car full of leather and cherry lollipops and lube.

i could afford the registration, but nothing else. sigh.

it looks like it's going to be a fabulous event, and it's definitely on my short list of events that i would love to go to.

i'll be there in thought - have some fun for me. :)

Prob not. I'm trying to get back the 4 vacation days I put in for when you asked me to present. I just can't afford to burn that many vacation days AND pay full price to get into an event.
