Does anyone out here subscribe to Nerve.com?

It dawned on me that I never actually saved the infamous stories written about me and my friends at Leather Retreat many years back. I would love to copy paste them for posterity. Can anyone help me out?

That's it. Many thanks - I thought it was under their premium content now. Silly me for not searching.

Ah, this story brings back memories. Of blood boiling.

Glad to help. I remember reading the article when it came out, and wondering why anyone would think it was a good idea to send a complete kink-virgin to leather camp. Made no sense to me!

I can see why. ;-(

Aha, I thought the name sounded familiar - he has a new book out and is appearing at In the Flesh next month.

Oh, don't tell me that. It's too tempting to go over and say hello to my old friend Grant. I guess I still hold a slight grudge against him. We never did get the apology we wanted out of him.

Well... at least you know where he will be on January 17th.

I'm "Manflesh" in the story, so, yeah. It caused a large uproar back in 2003. Content-wise, it's a horrible article. Full of inaccuracies, sensationalism and embellishment. Karma-wise, it was completely unethical as Grant entered a private event and reported on it, even after being denied permission to attend the event and report on it.

Technically outed, no. But a big betrayel of trust. I sure didn't know the guy I drove down to camp for 4 hours was a reporter.

The release back them did not include such things. Now they do.

Oh, I'm not debating his ethics - The thought of a reporter sneaking into an event (even one I've never attended) makes me feel vile. I can understand the uproar. It also shows how vulnerable we can all be - what if he hadn't changed names for people? What if he had been on a crusade to expose freaks instead of just wanting into a club he didn't belong in? Makes me want to start using a scene name all the time.

Although, at least the article said some nice things. (I.e., that the kinky folks knew themselves, that he was an outsider, and that they were all very nice.)

OMG they used pictures without permission? Wow. I shouldn't be suprised, given that he snuck in to leather retreat, but somehow I am anyway.
