Sometimes to pass the time, especially when waiting for phone calls, I like to wander Wikipedia. You just never know what you might stumble on.

And then I found this... the legend of Old Leatherman.

A man who for 31 years kept an amazingly tight schedule while wandering between the Connecticut and Hudson Rivers. Go read his story... I found it amazingly fascinating.

Here is another report about the leathered traveler.

Wow, now that's Olde Guarde. I bet he ran a training program for an Olde European Family & was out scouting talent ... yeah, yeah ... See? There's your proof of a centuries old Tradition ...

(ok, that's as silly as I'm willing to get in public.) [/silly]

That's interesting! Apparently, I live along his path, or not far from it, and I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to walk this route, and what went on in his mind. I've passed the cemetery, where he is buried, loads of times, must stop sometime.

The Leatherman's strong lore in CT. I knew one of the documentarians who first researched his story decades ago, and I've long wanted to write a modern retelling of his story a la leather/BDSM erotica. Maybe someday...
