Fun meme!

Ha! naylandblake came up with a good one. Directly copied from him:

"Go to the Wikipedia home page and choose "random article" - the first thing to come up is your band's name.

Choose "random article" again for the name of your album.

Choose it 15 more times to get the titles of your songs ( I only did twelve, because really albums shouldn't have more songs than that).

For my second twist, I chose one final time to get the name of my record company."

Now of course, he did it with fancy-shmancy custom cover art for this album. But, I'm not that cool. I'll just post mine behind a cut.

My band's name - 1908 in Art

My album name - The Puppetmaster

Track 1 - 1963-64 NBA Season
Track 2 - Leeds City Square
Track 3 - Expo 67 (Pavilions)
Track 4 - R28 (NYC Subway Car)
Track 5 - GSG 9
Track 6 - El Museo del Barrio
Track 7 - Vermont's At-Large Congressional District
Track 8 - The Lady in Red
Track 9 - Premiere
Track 10 - Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom
Track 11 - Pinehurst Circle
Track 12 - Castkov
Track 13 - Stella Inger
Track 14 - Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life
Track 15 - Extensis Portfolio

My record company - Ackermans & van Haaren Productions

That was fun. 10 points for anyone who can figure out the music genre or theme to my album.

Nah, I'm thinking Industrial Metal
Like that German band I can never remember, Einstempfgetankenfucken or something. The travel and numerical references kind of give it away. Very deconstructionist.

This is one of those garage bands that made too much money early on, and they now feel they can write whatever they want, and it will still sell.

I think it's actually a life-cycle retrospective of the three-piece band's ongoing music since their middle school sports days through their post-college pre-hipster rockabilly bowling band and finally settling into their decades-later grad school application essays Appalachian-inspied blues tracks. The album was recorded live in Jason's Mom's Jersey garage and all living members of the band over the years, and most of their exes, were there.
