Having a blog is a dangerous thing sometimes. You see this blank post screen, just begging for all your true thoughts, the ideas and expressions that you really want to make public but you know you just can't... because it wouldn't be proper.

Lord am I filled with dozens upon dozens of statements like that.

But I don't write them. Because proper manners says I shouldn't. And I won't.

Just sayin'.

I'm so there. Last weekend I was experiencing some really intense dark feelings about some shit in my life. I so wanted to go off on a rant the likes of which would have probably culminated in someone sending either the police or an ambulance to my door. "Excuse me Sir, we'd like you to come with us, please."

I agonized over it. Finally, I boiled it down to "I really hate my life right now" and left it at that. But for some unknown reason, the post never went through. Yeah, that explains why it never got any response.

I did post a more explicit version somewhere anonymously. I'm not saying where, because then it wouldn't be anonymous, would it?

So anyway. You're saying. I'm hearing. I'm saying "Amen to that."

Funny enough, I have no problems posting my depressive shit here. Long time readers know my emo posts well.

But when it comes to writing about how someone is pretty much a waste of human existence and is a blight on the beautiful landscape we call Earth? Nope. Got to reign that one in.

Until your depressive shit prompts someone to call 911 on you, post away. Having spent a few days in the hospital once upon a time, I'm a lot more careful about expressing some thoughts now.

That's OK. I already know how you feel about me.

This qualifies you for Honorary Southern Belle status, yannow.

Good that we have the phones for the really nasty stuff.

Amen, sister. Amen.

Censoring yourself can feel pretty annoying, but yes it usually ends up being for the best in the end.

I think that's why I like LJ and it's varying ports of protectability, more so than, say, Wordpress. This way, I can rant and bitch and keep it to myself or to a few select other people who already know what's going on, and get it.

I should probably take advantage of that option

Yeah, and besides. It would be good to see your mug now and then in these parts.

I have Protected Friends Groups for that.

Ranting only among people who're likely to agree with you is the way to go.

Wish you would. I like to, once in awhile, just to ruffle the 'shouldn't' feathers..

That's the title I'd use.
Nice to see you today bud.

What do 'proper manners' have to do with anything outside of fancy dinners and not killing rival motorists.. if i read someones lj i like to see them, not a silly fake representation, a front, or some really attractive guy being all depressive..

Darn tootin' it wouldn't be proper.

But if its fun or an important lesson, or something that there could be some common thread of joy and commiseration, then Code Names + Flock = &hearts (love)
